Weather.
Climate in the Sechelt area is characterized by mild, moist winters and warm dry summers. Temperatures on the Coast range from freezing in winter to highest of 32°C (90°F) in summer. The annual rainfall is approximately 100 cm (40 in). The Sunshine Coast boasts 14 more days of sunshine per year than Victoria.
Another major weather factor in our favor is the wind. The first winds that sweep over the Pacific strike the West Coast of Vancouver Island, a force that is evidenced by the wind swept trees, but on the Sunshine Coast we remain sheltered from the open Pacific.
Our milder weather patterns also mean very slight snowfalls in the region. Some seasons we have no measurable snowfall at all at the lower altitudes.
